Scope of Practice & Safety Policy

Velvet Spa Ltd provides wellness and relaxation-based massage therapy for generally healthy individuals. We are a non-clinical practice and do not provide medical, rehabilitative, or specialised treatments.

To ensure the safety of our clients, we do not provide massage services for individuals with the following conditions, as they fall outside our professional scope of practice:

• Cerebrovascular & Heart Conditions: Including a history of Stroke, TIA (Mini-stroke), Heart Attack, or unstable Blood Pressure.

• Circulatory Risks: Active Blood Clots, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), or significant/systemic Oedema (swelling).

• Specialized Care Needs: We do not offer prenatal (Pregnancy) massage or clinical treatment for Epilepsy, Cancer, or Bell’s Palsy.

• Acute Structural Issues: Slipped/Herniated discs, Osteoporosis, or undiagnosed lumps/bumps.

• Recent Recovery: Major operations or conditions currently under active hospital/GP treatment.

Total Contraindications (Treatment will be refused):

We cannot offer treatment if you have a fever (37.5° or greater), a continuous cough, any contagious illness, or are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

We reserve the right to decline service if a condition is present that poses a systemic risk or requires specialised clinical training beyond our wellness-based model.
